Christmas break is coming to an end. You can feel the sense of readiness for the return to normal. But as a mommy I can't help but get anxious and feel a bit sad when times like this arrive. Hubster returns to work on Monday and the boys start school again on Tuesday. I even remarked on Facebook how I wish these days would go slow. That was this morning.
Even though my heart gets a bit achey, life is real around here people...these kids are driving me nuts today!!!
And, when the bickering begins...so do the chores:
My precious (alway seem to be) shirtless sons.Their punishment...washing the base boards. Hey, I had to do it as a kid!
Even if there's craziness in our house today, I'll miss it when it's quiet again. Amidst the chores (and despite their ornery expressions in the photo above), the music is cranked, the giggles are plentiful and the boogie woogie is getting on!
And...my house is getting cleaned!

My baseboards need cleaning too. Wish I had thought of that when my kids were young!
I'm getting a bit sad too. Andy leaves early Monday morning and life returns to normal here. I'm not ready yet!

BRRRRRR, they must be COLD. Well, then I had to remember you don't live HERE where it is high of -4. No, you live in Texas, where your lows are like what, 80s????
BASE BOARDS! I'm going add that one! Genius. I told my girlfriend how when they kids tell me they are bored, or the whining starts I tell 'em I'll give 'em something to do...and I do, I empty the dressers drawers and tell them they can now fold neatly and put it all back, if it's not done neatly, I dump again. She said I'm a mean mom. Okay, I can live with that, what I can't live with is the whining, bickering and screetching her kids do. (mine too, but not as often.) I can't WAIT to tell her about the base boards!
I do the same thing with my kids! At least if I have to listen to arguing, my house gets a little cleaner! We have been so crazy around here, I DREAD getting back to normal...I need a few days to get organized and rest!

I have a new way to stop the girls from bickering around here...
I know how you feel though, it is so hard to be torn between not wanting time to pass, and then wishing for some things to be done and over.
I want the good stuff to last forever --- but not the bad. :-)
The problem is - We have a small house and all our baseboards, except one or two are COVERED by furniture. :-)
Love those expressions though!!
