CAMP!

What a fantastic week. I love being a Children's Pastor's wife and weeks like this are like the cherry on top. Here are a few highlights of our week:

Camp food that now forces me to add Miralax to my daily routine.

A bunk bed with a mattress that was too big for it. Coulda been too small and paper thin so no complaint on that one.

Being next to a lake that was beauty beyond measure.

Activities like; canoeing, archery, balloon art, karate, jewelry making, fishing, soccer, football, zip line, swimming, skating, mini golf, frisbee golf....in other words NOT enough time left for little boys and girls to get into any sort of trouble! ☺

4 showers for 48 girls.

2 charter buses. One without AC for the last 1.5 hour of the 5 hour trip.

Hanging out with 4th grade girls and imagining what my house would be like with any of them. I love 'em but man am I thankful for my b.o.y.s.!!

THIS guy as our speaker:

We've known him personally for almost 10 years. He is phenominal!!

Hearing the song I have on here today over and over and over and over again. Enough times I should know the dance moves the college sponsors made up.

Sweating enough over the past 5 days that I SHOULD have lost 5 pounds.

A trip to the nearby ER with a boy who tried out a gymnastic move involving a bunk bed. He survived, was sore and hopefully will never, ever, ever again think it's a good idea to use that method to get on his bunk!

The sponsor in my cabin who decided to hit the snooze button 5 times starting at 5am. Why she thought getting up at 5am was a good idea I do not know!

Watching my husband get on stage in front of 1000 kids and show off his dance moves for *camp idol*. What I would have done to have had a video camera in my hands.

Watching our kids smile, laugh, make new friends, crash hard after a full day of play, share their hearts, pray for others, and all week long.....listening for what God had to say to them as HIS child!

If only my schedule had more blanks than fill-ins for work. I'd like to have enough time to do laundry. But pff, I have the rest of summer for that! Now it's time for a nap.

Glad you had fun...we missed children's camp because it was the same week we were trekking out west, maybe next year! Hope you get a little rest!

Sounds like a full week. Camp is so good for kids - there was no camp around when my kids were young.

I LOVED camp as a kid. It takes a special adult to LOVE being with that many girls and boys full time for a week. You rock!

I too loved going to camp as a tweenager! MAN, the FREEDOM!!!!!!!!
I once fell off my bunk having a nightmare/woke up the whole cabin, but I was fine, no big deal. It happened the next night again After that I could only sleep on the bottom bunk.
We took the kids when they were YOUNG to family camp, it was too hard. Since then the church hasn't offered it. I hope WE didn't ruin it?!?! :P
It sounds like you had a blast! I just want to add: We have over 10,000 lakes here in MN, maybe you could campaign to come visit? hmmm?

What a fun time. As I was reading your list, I was remembering my time at camp as a kid. Funny how the bunks, lack of showers, no AC & the food never bothered me! lol Don't think I could say that now at this age. So glad you had a wonderful time at camp. Now - enjoy that much deserved nap! :-)
