A Special Tip

This post is NOT for the weak of stomach!!

So basically that means that I shouldn't be reading it, let alone writing it! But it's blog fodder at it's finest these days.

I love my job. L-O-V-E, love, ♥ it! Over the holidays I have been blessed with several pet sitting jobs and several include dog walks. The weather so far has been crisp and beautiful. I have completely soaked up these mornings out walking and enjoying the quiet. The only down side to this position is the "duty". Yep, THAT duty. Unfortunately I have a terrible gag reflex and to be honest I have literally escaped the chore of cat litter for years. Pregnant mama's can't be around cat litter....and somehow 9 years later no one in this house has noticed that I've passed the chore off for good!

So that part of the job is not so fun. Neither is the fact that I'm just about curled over hurling on the side of the bike path after having to do my part in being a "responsible dog walker". There seems to be nothing more humbling than having to walk along with a walmart bag swinging back and forth containing the treasure of a canine.

DISGUSTING!

The perks in this job? The tips!! My clients are so incredibly generous. I received several tips on these jobs and one such was a 50 dollar bill. I don't think I've seen one of those for years! ☺ Tonight I started another job and was overjoyed to find another generous tip left on the counter. In fact, these people (and pets) seem to love me so much that THEIR DOG brought me a tip tonight:

That my friends would be a picture of a dead **D.E.A.D.** mole. The certain Boston terrier who constantly has me laughing at his craziness, decided to try and sneak it past me on his way into the house. Fortunately I intercepted but wasn't too excited to discover his treasure. I blurred the photo cuz it is just nasty looking. My first time ever seeing a mole! All I've ever seen is their dirt piles in my yard.

So all of this gross stuff is enough to make for a disturbing post. And if it wasn't bad enough that I tell you all about this...how about the fact that I actually brought the dead critter home per 2 little boys' request who wanted to see it.

Yep, go ahead and say it...

I'm a great mom!

That's pretty gross, Linda!
Congrats on your new jobs...I am so far behind in blogging that this was news to me! I think it's a great way to make some cash...espceially some 'fresh' (he, he...punn inteneded!) 50 dollar bills!!!
Even though the picture was blurred, my imagination can still picture that grody mole all wrangled up! Hope your day is better tomorrow!

Yes - that sounds like something a boys Mom would do. My son would have wanted to see it too.

You are a great mom! That is a little boy's treasure. When my son was in second grade, I allowed him to bring a turkey heart to tutorial in a jar 'cause it was so cool! Ah, life with boys!

Oh GAG!
I hate "treasures" too. Having a cat, well I'd say she's more pirate if you ask me. MEOW HO and a bottle of NIP...
I love Bostons, their faces crack me up! I use to visit one every week at a pet store when I lived out east. If I had $1200 I would have bought him, can you imagine how that would have gone over with Nancy?!

I knew you were a great mom, but the mutilated mole comfirms it! I have BIG dogs so you can imagine that that leaves BIG piles to carry around on a walk- I can't stand it, so try to make sure they do their business in our big yard before we head out. Glad you are enjoying your job!

Oh my WORD - this brought back a memory that I had totally forgotten...one of my first jobs ever when I was about 10 was walking through a hay field and turning hay bales over so that they wouldn't rot on the bottom. Almost every time, underneath the bales we would find nests of these moles or rats or something hiding underneath, and they would shoot out and run at us. SO GROSS.

But hey - those tips sound awfully nice, and I know you deserve it! :)
