I did it.
I survived the first morning back-to-school.
I only cried once...walking away from AJ's classroom.
Our neighbors down the street have a traditional "First day of school" breakfast in their driveway each year. It was so relaxing to enjoy that and not have to cook on a crazy morning like today. Both my boys were dragging a bit as we walked into their schools. AJ is such a ham, he made his mama's worrying heart sigh...this is how he posed when I asked to take his photo in class:

And D-Man got his locker open on the first try!!

The house is so stinkin' quiet and I can't quite blame the mess on the boys now, so I need to get my rear in gear and have something to show for my "stay at home mommy" status at the end of the day!
I talked with my dad last night. He has an appointment with his doctor on Tuesday to go over the cat scan results. It sounds like he is making some tough decisions already. Decisions that worry me, but it's his to make. It is hard being far away and not being able to hug him and just be there for support. Thank you for praying for our family. It means a lot!

As I said in my blog "Whew" glad it's over! And that AJ, totally cracks me up and reminds me of another joker I know.
So glad you were able to hang out with other mom's this morning. That was nice.
I'll continue to pray for your dad.
And for you!
Continuing to pray for you and your dad! Praying not only for healing and wisdom but that you wil have peace!
Glad you made it through day 1, I can't say I can relate because I have never had to send any of mine off, however after the past couple of weeks, I am pretty darn tempted to know the feeling!
Enjoy the quiet and the welcome home!
Congrats on making it through the first day. Our first is tomorrow. I hope it goes just as smoothly! :) Still praying for your Dad. Please continue to keep us informed.
i am going to have to be prepared to come to your blog, it seems i leave in tears lately. i could just picture you leaving AJ's classroom, and then wanting to hug your dad...ah. praying for you. on the bright side, those boys look mighty handsome on their first day back.
oh wow. this song...caused my dam to finally break- God has used you in my life today, Linda, and I praise Him for you and ask Him to be with you and yours in the days ahead- with everyday things like new school and the harder stuff, like your dad's illness.
The boys looked very happy on their first day!
And how cool to have a breakfast in your driveway...did it include kids and parents? very fun idea!
praying for you and your dad and the decisions that he is having to make.
You are right that AJ is a ham! My Roo is just like that too. :)
I've been praying hard for you and your dad. I know it's hard, just remember you have a bunch of us sisters ready to love on you and pour out our strength when you you're not feeling so strong. ;)
