A lot on the mind

I just picked up this keyboard and found a handful of cookie crumbs. Hmm...'round here we can't always blame that sorta stuff on the boys!

Unpacking boxes is like Christmas. You never know what you're going to unwrap. As grateful as we are that we had a moving company do all the work...there are a couple whoopsies. One being that they packed my Hubster's chain saw in our amoire. Smells wonderful now. I know, I'm thinking the same thing...what in the world does Hubster need a chain saw in Texas for? Isn't there a scary movie with a similar title...okay freakin' myself out now, moving on...

God has blessed me with the sa-weetest new friend. She not only painted but helped me unpack and organize my entire kitchen the other day. What a HUMBLING better way to get to know someone than to have them unpack for ya! I found 5 jars of chicken bouillon. Yep, need to work on looking in my cabinet before buying stuff like that at the store.

On Wednesday, this same wonderful new friend scooped up my boys and took them swimming for the afternoon to give them (AND ME) a break from the crazy, cranky unpacking mama.

The moving guys that helped unload the truck were a riot. But I got my first taste of what a real thick accent is. This one guy kept telling me stories and after enough times of saying "what was that you said"...I just continued to smile, nod and laugh when I thought it was time to. Lord knows he might have been telling me his dog died or something?! Sheesh!

Our boys are slowly adjusting. D-Man seems not so much himself, so please pray for both my cutie patooties as we take the next several months to adjust and call this new place home.

Please, please, please pray with me for the sale of our home in Oregon. It is a ball and chain that weighs heavy on us. With the damage to the economy and housing market, we have lost an overwhelming amount already because of the decrease in value. It would be awfully nice to see it sold soon. Also, please pray for the family that moves in. I have a jealous, fiery attitude about that cul de sac that I will always love and the people who are in it. I am praying for a perfect family (hopefully that has kids) to move in that will appreciate them and add more of the wonderfulness to that neighborhood!

I think it has been over 100' every day this week already. Welcome to Texas. Everyone keeps telling us it's not this hot usually until July. Now I'm scared what next month will bring!

AJ asked me today if ice cream was around when I was a kid. I love how they keep me young at heart and yet remind me how old I am really getting! He & I took the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood the other night. They didn't last very long! Poor things, panting and huffin'...and that was just us, you should've seen the dogs!

Hope your week is going fabulous and the sun is shining where you are!
you are my sunshine Pictures, Images and Photos

Interesting place for a chainsaw!

Update on your cul-de-sac home. We used the "secret key" to go in last night because TidBit noticed that two of your interior lights were on. There were 9 realtor cards on the counter, so people are looking! We went out back and got the basketball and cup that went over our fence (?), turned off the lights, locked back up, watered the flowers on the porch, and resisted the urge to haul the rocking chairs to our house!

There is some adjusting going on in the cul-de-sac too! One week into summer and both of our kids have commented about not having your boys around! It is strangely quiet without you guys and we don't like it very much. However, our feelings are softened when we realize how exciting this opportunity is for our dear friends.

Wishing you all the best, missing you lots, and every so thankful for your blog so we can keep up to date!

I hope you adjust quickly to the heat. I for sure am sweating with you. I think it has been over 100 here for over a month now. But the rains are suppose to start on the 1st of July so that will help. Today was 112 with 44% humidity.

The heat of Texas scares me. I would just stay inside all day every day and spend it playing house.

Moving is so unsettling for everyone. And leaving a house unsold is stressful. We had to do that when we moved here.

How wonderful to have already met a true friend. You are blessed!

Yeah for a sweet friend. Always a blessing, especially if you can get away from your work for a much needed break.

Praying right now for you, Linda. I know all too well the stress of financial issues, and so we are believeing with you that your house sells SOON, and that the perfect family will buy it. And that you and your family will adjust quickly. Yay for meeting a new sweet friend! That always makes a new place seem a little more like home.
