Oh is it time for a ramble. In fact, it feels waaay overdue. It's like a little burp in my blogging. Gross analogy, I know...but it is refreshing just to gab away at what is mundane and strange on my mind these days. Like Michael Jackson. (strange, yes!) Does anyone else wish he would just quit the drama and plastic surgery and just sing again? I watched "Free Willy" last night w/ my AJ and they play a video of him at the start. Man I miss those 80's and his cool moves!
Speaking of the AJ! Remember our "sharkboy"? Well today he's Captain Toothless. Poor fella. It makes my heart melt so bad (and maybe haunt me a little too much) to watch him get his teeth pulled. We've been working on him for weeks to get that stubborn tooth out. And yes, hearing the dentist explain today that there was no way it would have come on its own was reassuring at our failure to yank it out. So, today he got not just 1 front tooth pulled, but 2. It surely seems like it was much harder on mama since he was happy to stay home dosed up on Tylenol while playing PS2 to his hearts content!
I have been overjoyed lately at the weather in my neck of the woods. My readers, lurkers and friends from this area surely know what I mean! It feels like Spring. Incredible! As this time of year usually catches me sitting intently in front of my S.A.D lamp. My boys were out playing yesterday w/o a coat and the mama lion instinct kicked in, until I opened the door and felt the breeze. Even the birds are singing, which is odd since I don't usually hear a peep til February or March!

The other ramble I have ready to go in to is a job. I have talked over and over about going back to work. I've put out resumes in the past (half-heartily) and even had an interview. But the doors kept closing. I try very hard not to take it personal as my resume includes all sorts of volunteer work and my last "employer" was 12 years ago. Man I wish being a mom was appreciated more in the work force! So, we shall see what unfolds. Perhaps it is the new year and motivation to be able to buy more than groceries each month. Gone are the days I could waltz through Target and just be "happy" shopping!
I'm dancin' in my boots at my favorite T.V. show starting up again soon. How many are you "LOST" with me?
Lambing season has started for my inlaws. Oh what a treat it is for my boys each year. Although it makes for quite the conversations on "birth". THANK GOODNESS no obvious questions have been asked yet on how babies get in there in the first place. My boys have been exposed waaaay too much about the reproductive system through the ranch & watching bulls, sheep and most recently the news of my brother's dog stitch meeting up with my sister's dog Jess. It's still early to tell, but get in line now if you want a Basston puppy!

Okay, that should be enough rambling. Let's recap...violent movies, a disturbing celebrity, a kid who will DEFINITELY need braces, sunshine, the economy, an addiction to TV and lastly, the mating of animals. Hmm, I know I feel better. How about you!?
Have a great weekend everyone!

I am waiting patiently for LOST to start, even though I know it will frustrate me!!!!
Somehow my Josh has managed to watch Rambo or Rocky like every other night for the last month. He never has time to watch the whole movie, but just jumps in and has to watch....like its a sin against his manhood to flip to a different channel. Weird.
Josh's sister and her husband are ranchers and have sheep, too. They have some pretty crazy stories!
I love Lost and can't wait for it to start again! My hubby and son have watched those Rambo movies too and I still like the chick Flicks!
I think I am the only person in the country who has never seen even one episode of Lost...I need a life!
Thanks for rambling and sharing what is going on...I love when other people do that, it makes me feel less...crazy! :)
Did you feel me faint here in OK??? Go back to work? That's just wrong, so wrong!! *wink* That from your happily unemployed friend who sits here in her jammy pants reading blogs!
Lambing season??? I am such a city girl - I was afraid it meant time to kill the lambs. I immediately thought of "Silence of the Lambs" and why would she let the boys be part of that!! THis ADHD brain took me on quite a ride there for a minute!
You are so funny, lol! My hubby would agree with you -- he loved the 80s (not-so-crazy) Michael Jackson!
And I am LOST, too!! Haha, when Hubby was flying to Hawaii (or when they were getting on the plane, that is), he sent me a text that said, "If this plane crashes over the ocean and I end up LOST, I'm joining up with Locke." HAHAHA!!
You are such a hoot! I bet you are able to praise the Lord that you are at a place to be able to write about the mundane.
It looks to me like today will definitely be a "coat" day - but the sun looks to be shining - so the lamp can stay away a bit longer.
Always nice when a doctor or dentist verifies that "there's nothing you could have done" - takes away the guilt....
I am currently waiting on my sub license to be renewed as I contemplate my own (however part-time) return to the work-force - and for that same motivation given that the economy is tightening everything (and with a husband who's income is commission based - it's extra tough!)
Hope you have a great weekend!
WE mom's need a RAISE! I think that they should PAY us for raising decent citizens. The longer they stay out of trouble...the more we get paid...how bout that for the future of this country??
(Oh, and a ramble.)
So, I need to know...did they give AJ gas? Novacain? I'm dying for the gorey details, because I see his sweet face and HEAR you say, "It was harder on Mama..."
Please let me hear that he felt NO pain and had NO fear.
Yeh, WHAT happened to Jackson? He was SO cool. I think the fire that caught his hair on fire in that pepsi commercial did more damage them doctors admitted.
I don't like Rambo.
Nick got a Star Wars Cartoon Video for Christmas. (The new one that's out. Revenge or Attack of the clone wars...something) I just looked at it and thought
"huh? you really think this THIS is appropriate for a 4 year old?"
I took it and hid it...maybe when he's 9...he's already counting till he's 10 and then he can watch Harry Potter. (Nick and his ideas!)
My theory - one of b'zillions, I assure you - is that men watch those blood-n-guts moves to help them get in touch with their inner terrorist. It gives them a way to go postal without setting down their Doritos and getting up from the couch. Given the crap they endure to support their families, it's totally understandable.
After 12 years out of the work force, I'm preparing to re-enter as well. I fear I too may end up on the couch with Doritios and Rambo at some point.
I won't comment on your whole post but will definately say MJ needs to just stop it. I don't know about you but when I hear the Thriller beat, I start bobbing my head just want to dance. What happened to that guy?
ok, a rambling reply: I like rambling posts- one day when we have a real conversation you will realize that I talk in rambles a lot. Michael Jackson- he strikes me as a troubled person, and yes, he needs to just stop with the reconstruction. Glad your son't tooth problem is fixed- he doesn't look too upset in that pic. I cried when my daughter got her ears pierced- she sat there and giggled that I was crying... About that job thing: will this affect me? Cause you might be too busy to blog...AND lastly, I am so happy that it is sunny for you!!!
I DO feel better now, thank you!
lol just kidding.
Just want to wish you the best of luck as you hunt for that perfect job! You could always list being a SAHM as "CEO of Homeland something or other" ;o) Go figure, the most important job of all and you can't even list it on a resume...
Love the title. :)
And yes, I cannot WAIT for LOST!!!!!
So glad to hear that AJ is back and "shark boy" is outa there!! And a day to play PS2 all day - maybe I have a tooth that needs pulled ;-)
Thanks for your comment today on my post. I'm hopin' for a snowy weekend to do some luving on her!!
I love LOST too. And I love rambling. I wish I could say the same about the weather here. ack-a-rooni
Violent movies - ugh.
MJ - (eye roll)
Kid needing braces - I hear that! Poor guy - he looks great though. I remember when my daughter had her front teeth pulled when she broke them and she screamed like they were killing her and the dentist told me not to worry that she wouldn't remember it (and she doesn't - likes the dentist to this day) and all I could think is that maybe they should give the mommy some "special juice" so that she wouldn't remember either... That screaming still ahunts me.
Sunshine: AND green grass?!?!? Lucky! All we have is brown and gray here.
The economy: I'm praying for you in this area!
TV: I started watching Lost when it first came out but it didn't keep my attention. I don't know what's wrong with me.
OK - I feel better too! :-)
Ok the college student is fixin' to sound dumb. This week at work we have been on the theme of Farm Life. So I was reading to them today (which by the way I did very good reading upside down) and the term Lambing was there...and I thought hmmm never heard that one. Oh, and did you know the reason pigs stay in mud/water was because the don't sweat?? Yeah who knew!
Love the kick back day of ramble! Have a good weekend!!!!!
I have never watched Lost...but I'm thinking I should start.
Have a great weekend!
Hey girlie, I was at the beach for a week so I haven't been talking to you. So sunny and warm. Well now it is back to Delhi where it has been around 2 celcius. That means cold. And I love Lost too. I hope they show it here.
Even your dern burps are good reading, girl. :)
Michael Jackson is a huge freak. HUGE.
And we've been doing the Rambo thing, too. Seriously, testosterone FREAKS me out.
I can't remember what else I was going to say, though, because I am a little freaked out that I clicked over to Sara@Butterville's blog and it's GONE!
I was able to read her last post via Google reader, so if you talk to her, would you tell her to keep me in the loop should she decide to do her thing again? Man, that really stinks. :(
I gave you an award today. :)
Laughing at your countdown in your sidebar....yes, we'll be watching.
Love reading all the random thoughts going through your brain.
SO glad things went so well for your father. I am sure having a supportive family and lots of prayers helped.
Oh, yes...LOST!!! LOVE IT! I just said to my husband that I needed to put the 21st on the calendar so I remember to watch it...oh but I will...I can't wait! It will frustrate the heck out of me and creep me out a bit, but I love it! I can't wait to share thoughts with you!
My husband also likes those "stupid" movies! The other day he started watching some Arnold Schwarblahblahblah movie. It was from like the mid 80's. What draws them to those movies, I will never know!
I'm feeling better today. It's the first day without a fever. Yeah!
We had 8+ inches of snow last night and today. It's beautiful...definetly NOT what you are experiencing. Sounds delightful! Now that Christmas is over, I wouldn't mind it being a bit warmer...but FAT chance of that. Next week it's supposed to be -1 for the high! YIKES!
Okay...so now I've rambled! Can you tell I haven't blogged in a while? I have so much to say I mine as well do a new post! Sorry!
