My son walks up to me this morning....
D-man: Why don't you ever ground me?
Me:....? *shock*...*silence*...(well and also quickly contemplating how much I could get out of the answer on this one)
Me: I do. Remember losing ps2 time or having to sit on your bed?
D-man: Oh.
I have 2 of the best boys in the universe. Very tenderhearted and well-behaved kids. So realizing they don't get "grounded" very often is a blessing I'm writing in permanent ink on my memory bank today!
Especially in case when they are teens and they say this:
"Mom, why am I always grounded?!"

AH, I wish you were my mom. I got grounded from homecoming week for not having potatoes peeled by 4:00PM when my mom got home. I missed the whole stinkin' week of stuff! POTATOES!
Wish I got grounded like your boys. Yes, save it. Write it in the baby book this treasure can't ever be forgotten. What a sweet boy. In my baby book it is written (I kid you not)
Sara was mad (not word used, started with a p and rthyms with missed) at me (Mom) and said "Tough luck when you die Then I'll be the boss!"
Would you believe a sweet little 4 year old said this?
I'm STILL waiting to be the boss!
I wish I could just hug those sweet boys right now. And you too.
Love the song....had church right here at the puter.
over here from sarah's page...
this is great! definitely something you'll want to remember for a loooooooooong time.
Oh, such sweet boys you have. Good for you to record a new post as soon as he asked it, so it can be recorded forever!
I just read your previous post, I think you did a really nice job of stating your feelings without any need for a conflict dialogue to begin in the comments! For us, Halloween is all about a couple of families coming over, an annual chili feed, and going up and down the surrounding streets en masse (about 7-10 kids in the group). It's one of our rare opportunities to connect with our neighbors so John and I have made that the focus, vs. the candy collection. (Not sure the kids understand that yet, but it's our underlying reasoning!).
