Street signs of my life

I have sensed many "street signs" in my journey with God. Some have been pretty obvious:
Some I wish were more obvious:

And some I have learned the hard way:
And lately my "street sign" has been this:

"To give up, as to superior power or authority"
"To give up or surrender (oneself)"
"To give as due or required"

Those are some of the definitions I found on *Yield*.

And lately, for me I have really sensed God asking me to do this. You know, please get out of the way so I can lead in your life and show you which way to go.

Yielding is often hard for me. Especially when the unseen future is involved. Or in thinking I am right about something. Or simply wanting to be in charge.
I know in my heart and from repeated history in my life, that yielding is the best way I can relax, be confident and secure, and trust that my path is okay. It is better than okay in fact. Because His way is always the best way.

Job 22:21 NAS
"Yield now and be at peace with Him; Thereby good will come to you.

Yielding...that's exactly the word He's teaching me too.

Why on earth do I think it's so hard when I know His way is best?!? Crazy.

Yielding is hard when you want to keep driving but there too many cars, and you don't want to stop. The yield sign is a good one for me because there are a lot of cars driving by right now.

I'll never look at a yield sign again without thinking of you.

I couldn't agree more with your thoughts.

What a great way to say it! I need to yield myself...instead I'm going through with my hazard lights on like there is some kind of hurry..His timing is not that way...is it...
This post really made me "stop" and think...thanks...

Yielding sometimes doesn't convey the entirety of what God wants. *sigh* A tombstone might work. A surrender flag?

Be at peace... I like that. :-)
