A closs call...or "close" call if I could spell write (right)!

It rains a lot where I live. And this time of year we get a little but it's usually still sunny and warm. Yesterday was one of those days we wanna yell at a little. "Hey, no rain...we aren't back to school yet and it's still summer"!

It had rained most the evening so when we heard this:

We were pretty shocked. Hubster was up working on the computer and bless his heart...he ran out and moved our precious swing back from the damage, in the rain! Remember me posting about this swing? How we love it and how much of a kid magnet it is most every day.

So you can imagine how my tummy feels today thinking how horrible it would've been had the limbs broke any other time! Oh thank you Lord for your protection!

News is, this is one of the most dangerous trees around (according to our neighbor who works for the city). GULP, hmm and in our front yard. With a kiddie swing tied to 2 other branches. He's said to call the city up and have them come look at it. Might be that they need to cut the whole tree down. Which makes me more sick to my tummy.
But when ya think about little ones running around...I can let go of the tree! Phew, what a morning.

Wow, that'll get your adrenaline going!

It is a beautiful tree, how sad if they have to remove it, but I'm with you, to know it "could come down" would be worth the removal.

Michele and I were talking last night about how very blessed we were with our weekend activities and how we squeaked right in between the two rain fronts to have such happy activities. Thanks God!

Thanking God with you that no one was swingin. Of course, since it was raining, that would've been silly, but you know what I mean.

Have you seen the trees in Oklahoma since the ice storm?

That tree is beautiful - I hope it can be saved and still be safe. Dontcha just wonder "If this tree could talk...???" I'm sure lots of secrets have been whispered, arms broken, and hide-and-go-seek counting done around that old tree!

Keep us posted!

wow...that was close I'm so glad the swing survived. It's kind of crazy you just posted not to long ago about the swing and it was that close to being damaged. I hope your day has been calmer...

My first thought was "So that was what that big "crack" was at 1:00 this morning!" My second thought was "Thank goodness no one was out playing when this happened!" Then, "What season is this again?" And finally, "Oh my goodness! The flowers! That darned branch is on top of the flowers! AHHHHH!" ;-)

I LOVE your tree, especially since we don't have a big tree in our front yard. But if it is going to pose a danger to the swing, the humans, the dogs, or the flowers, it will need to move out of our safe, happy little cul-de-sac!

Yikes! Glad it didn't kill your lovey swing!

However, it is a beautiful tree. Hopefully they won't deem it as a threat.

I am kinda tickled at the term "dangerous tree" though. I just picuture it going all gangsta in the night or something.
