This Thursday's Thankful Thirteen has got me misty-eyed. I could list so much more, but here's a few that stand out:

We sent the final papers back and now it's time to finally close the door on this sweet place. We hope the new buyers take care of it, appreciate it and love it just as much as we did!

Do you know we never moved? We were married 50th years ago; moved into the house we still live in today. I live about 3-4 miles from where I grew up. I have always gone to the same church. I don't know what it is to be uprooted; my roots go down very deep. Someday I will move - move to my mansion in the heavens. That will be a real experience for me.......
Way to get me all misty-eyed as well! We miss you all very, very much. The wonderful energy was diminished drastically when you left our cul-de-sac. We met the wife and little girl that will be moving in, havn't met the husband or the laborador yet. Tidbit is thrilled that a little girl will be around for her to dote on, but both Tidbit and Wheels often say how much they miss you all.
The lilac is in full bloom and I just cut a whole bunch off "your" tree and they are sitting in a vase in the house. Made me remember how we exchanged cuttings and also remember your darling husband bringing us a huge vase of them one night for some reason or another ... I think it was when we gave you a lasagne that we had made too much of!
I have your email at home and will drop you a line over the weekend. Please know that you do, and always will, hold a special place in our hearts.
awww...you sweet thing you. Wish I could reach through this screen and give you a big hug!
Just think of all the sweet memories you helped create for your family...and now another family gets to create memories of their own.
oh, and I have to say...Connie's comment above about moving to the mansion in the heavens...I loved it!
i know its hard to say goodbye to a home...i had one of those too. i finally got over it, but it just held so many memories for us. it certainly looks like a great one.
i love your sentimentality towards your former home. i am that way about houses too. i always felt weird about posting pics of our house while we lived there but have thought about do it several times since moving. this post might have just given me the nudge!
i am sure you'll be looking back at your present home with fond thoughts one day too!
sigh, hugs to you, my friend. That's a big step.
*sniff*
Yep, I know what this feels like.
But guess what girl? There is not a house on this planet that will compare to the one Jesus is setting up for you!!!!!
Just as the momma bird your watching will leave her nest, you too have left your "nest". The place you raised your young, loved much & laughed often. Hugs to you as you have to work on making your new "nest"!
That makes me sad!!!! We miss you!
Awwww...that is so sweet! And what makes it even more special is all of the pictures you captured from your home that you enjoyed the most! Who'd a thought to take a picture of the backpack rack you had? Cuteness!
