Could I be more of a dork (AGAIN)?

When the sun shines in the great Northwest, it is an unspoken law in my book that you do.not.complain. about anything relating to the sun. Seeing it rains most months out of the year here, we welcome the sun with open arms and cheering.

But there is a problem I have when I see his yellow face again each Spring. I get so zealous about it that I forget some small details!

We spent the afternoon at the baseball field for D-Man's game yesterday. And although I was a good mom (on mother's day) and made sure both my boys had sunscreen on, I don't know why I think this blinding white skin of mine is going to tan right away:

Way to draw unnecessary attention to my big ol' nose! Shame on me for thinking I'm 20 again and the *first burn of the season* is okay! I'm getting too old for this! Why oh why could I not have inherited the beautiful olive skin like my siblings?

Now I've seen tank top tan lines, farmer tan lines, even tube sock tan lines...but how about the:
**Crossed my legs and the sun was at just the right angle to leave this** burn line:

How's that for a sexy mama leg?

Oh brother.

And now today as Mr. Sun has disappeared for what sounds like another week, I suppose I'm glad he left his sweet sun kisses on my skin so I know there is hope for his return! Bring on the wrinkles...at least the sun still shines!

Ow! I am FAMOUS for that very thing! No fun! If it makes you feel any better, here in TN where we usually start BEGGING for the sun to hide for awhile to relieve the unbearable heat, we have experienced very Oregon like weather and the rain WON'T STOP! We haven't had enough sun to worry about a sun burn!

Hope you feel better soon!

Ouch, you made me snort. I am kinda sorry for laughing at your expense, but that look on your poor red face is priceless! I have so been there, so I am feeling for ya! Can I just say that your ruby complexion really highlights your beautiful blue eyes!?

You made me laugh!
I remember the first time I wore my big ole sun hat. My sister LAUGHED at me. I mean MEANLY, teased me about being afraid of wrinkles and the sun.
I sometimes forget to "screen" myself too, but I always have an umbrella in the car, so I'll bust that out. I'm the only person who you'll see walking around in sunny weather under an umbrella!
I just know that I'll be the one to get the skin cancer, and Mother and Sherri who BAKE themselves in foil lined boxes and baste with baby oil will get off scott free. :P
You should see when I get tracker burns. How did baseball go?
Glad you had a gorgeous day for it!

My girls played ball yesterday too. But no sun here. I have gotten the same tan (burnt) lines before myself. Just a mom thing I guess.

Nice lines you've got! I've had some of those in the past myself!

hee hee. You're so funny.

Now I've seen "hand lines". When hubby rides his bike for a long ride, he comes home with solid white hands and tan arms.

I'm lucky in the fact I don't burn easy. However, I use to tan easy..but not so much anymore. I think it's 'cause my lazy tail is on the couch too much =)

ARG! i hate it when that happens! i am a dork right along with you, as that has happend to me way too many times! i remember last year having a hand print on my back from applying sunscreen in such a messy manor. i am so fair skinned that the slightest mistake with sunscreen leaves me red in very strange places!

Oh Honey, that just looks so painful!!! Hoping you're feeling a little relief by now? And maybe you might want to think about taking the song "Here Comes the Sun" off of your music player for a little while? ;o)
