Jr. High....need I say more?!
Then there's the Jr. High dances.....raging hormones, sweaty, zit-faced kids and oh man, was I a dork!
I remember my dad pulling up to the gymnasium and how it felt like the ground moved when I got out of the car. That place was ROCKIN'! There was desperation to find my best friends and an eagerness to get out there on the dance floor and get my groove on. We had so much fun at those dances. I felt like I was going to be young forever and life was GREAT...until the slow songs came on. That was worse torture than any drama between friendships! More times than not I sat those songs out, but in the company of some sweet friends like Sheryl, Cherie, & Jennifer.

These are some of the kids I hung out with in Jr. High. I probably had a crush on any number of the guys in this photo. But the guy on the top left...David B. seemed to always be at the top of the list. I don't think he knew I existed!
I went a little crazy on this one. There's over 30 songs on here so flip through to find your favorite!
Don't forget to stop by Sara's to hear more awesome tunes!

LOL the song "shake your groove thing" comes to mind for some reason when reading this post.
Having so many means that we can DANCE for a long time! I am having a blast listening to your list. I may have to steal them. :)
I played along, I just could not resist. :)
Have a great day!
Cindy P :)
I was impressed you put your JH picture up! I am not sure I would..no one would recognize me! ha!
great songs!
I never got to go to my school dances so I turned up the volume and danced my heart out this morning. "Whew" - what a work out and "oh what horror" as I was quickly thrown back into high school.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I'm going to hubbys 25th high school reunion on Sat. Should be fun(not) since I will now NOBODY :-( We went to different schools and are 7 years apart. So as he likes to say, "When I was a senior, you were in 5th grade." He loves me so!
Being willing to post these pictures...another reason why you are one of my favorite bloggers. ;o)
Ah the memories.... I loved dances. You described them well.
Oh, once again, I so relate. Junior high...yuck! Talk about an awkward time!
Crazy as it sounds, just last night I had a dream that I hacked my hair off like that classic jr high cut and was so upset at myself....!
Love the honesty of your last post, I'll be praying!
Oh goodness Girl! That picture. No I'm not going there I posted pictures of me before, I'm been through the wringer this weekend and I'm not going THERE!
As usaul your songs just bring me right back. Seriously, it is amazing to forget the simple pleasures eh? I mean I used to rock out everyday in my room! Sing in my hair brush.
I love Pump up the jam. I had great memories but now I think sports when I hear it. It is a staple at the Hockey games here.
OHHHH, Foot loose! I can't wait to see the remake of this one, I loved the story, rough neck kid can't get any respect so he DANCES his way into the hearts of the kids and the parents don't know WHAT to think.
I have Tiffany on mine today, first song. Oh she was so COOL with her long wispy hair and her jean jacket and her "dance moves".
I wanted to be Tiffany. AND she toured with NKOTB (new kids!)
footloose- did you take that one- I gotta get me post up before you next week! That was a big time favourite of mine! I love you even more for posting your pic- you were way better looking than me though!

I loved Footloose too! I can't even remember the number of times I watched that movie! And Summer of '69 was played over and over and over in my car and in my room!
I have tried to block out the memories of Jr. High and Sr. High dances. Not good times for me, so glad that time of my life is in the past!
Loved listening to all your picks:)
